Clearline Lighting was officially launched in 2025, growing out of years of experience designing and building outdoor spaces through Slate & Cedar. While Clearline is a new company, the lighting expertise behind it has been developing for years through real-world projects and hands-on design work.
As we completed more landscape and hardscape projects, we began to see how much lighting influenced the overall design. It wasn’t just a finishing touch, it shaped the experience of the space. We found ourselves drawn to the technical and creative side of lighting: beam angles, shadowing, restraint, and how to highlight architecture without overpowering it.
Over time, it became clear that lighting deserved its own focus. Clearline was started to specialize in architectural and landscape lighting design – to treat lighting as its own craft rather than an add-on service.

Our Story
We specialize in architectural and landscape lighting design. Basically, we help homes and commercial bldgs look just as good at night as they do during the day – highlighting the architecture, adding depth to the landscaping, and creating a warm, welcoming feel.
Clearline grew out of our company, Slate & Cedar. As we were designing and building outdoor spaces, we found ourselves getting more and more interested in the lighting side of things. We realized how much thoughtful lighting changes a space, and we wanted to go deeper into that craft. So Clearline became its own company, focused entirely on lighting design.
